Absolutely beautiful antique secretary cabinet with incredible original character and craftsmanship. This is a substantial, solid piece featuring beautiful wood grain, turned legs, fluted detailing, original-style wooden knobs and gorgeous glass doors with Gothic-inspired arched panes.
The upper cabinet opens to reveal spacious shelving for books, dishes, collectibles or display pieces, along with several small drawers for storage. The center features a drop-front writing surface with felt interior, giving it the classic secretary-desk functionality, while the lower portion offers three large drawers.
We have left this piece in its original finish because the aged wood and patina are truly beautiful as-is.
Overall, it is in very good antique condition, especially considering its age. There are approximately 1-inch sections of decorative trim missing on both the left and right corners where the upper and lower sections meet, which are clearly shown in the photos. Otherwise, the piece presents beautifully with the normal age and character you would expect from an antique.
This would be incredible used as a statement piece in a dining room, living room, office or library — either styled as a traditional secretary or filled with books, dishes and collected treasures.
